REMEMBER YOU CHILDHOOD?
Jumping rope, rubber band skipping, and running from the boys, as children, we never had a lack of action to keep us fit. But the older we get, the more comfortable we become. Exhaustion from work or taking care of our family leaves us drained and leads us to the couch with some instant energetic bite to recharge.
We do not suggest you get started with jumping rope, but we are firm believers that any of us can find a physical activity to enjoy and keep our bodies and minds healthy.
SWIMMING
One of the best exercises that are gentle to your joints and refreshing during hot summers is swimming. Whether swimming in the pool or in open water, have fun because the more you enjoy it, the more extensive the chances you will continue in this new pursuit.
Swimming will help tone your muscles and, combined with healthy food, can begin to transform your body within a month if performed daily.
YOGA, STRETCHING, BREATHING EXERCISES
Yoga provides a valuable way to calm down, return to your center and stretch your body. Moreover, various kinds of yoga give you space to find what you are looking for, even if it is simple stretches. Breathing exercises can help you find your center again, let off steam and calm your nervous system to get a good night’s sleep, which plays a fundamental role in your recharging.
RUNNING: START SLOW
Whether you begin with fast walking, the key is to get started. Next time when you have that sofa calling again, try to take a walk instead. You might find out that it recharges your batteries much faster.
Make your runs memorable; go to see the sundown or the sunrise; make them unique, and you will cherish them.
It might take a while, but once you start some activity, you might return to that childhood feeling and grab a rubber band to skip it. You never know!
